Employment Process - Loss Prevention Officer


The entire Loss Prevention Officer employment process is driven by hiring and business needs.  Qualified candidates are contacted via e-mail when there are job openings that will be filled externally.

Step 1. Submit your credentials on-line. Based upon our current openings and our minimum requirements consisting of the following:

You must have:

  • A high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Computer literacy
  • Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with state or National Registry  license  or proof of active enrollment in an accredited EMT program

In addition, you must meet at least one of the following requirements:

Security or Law Enforcement Training

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice
  • Minimum of 2 years industrial security or law enforcement
  • M.C.O.L.E.S. certification

Fire Fighting

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science
  • Fire Fighter I or II
  • Previous experience as a fire brigade member
  • NFPA 600 level advanced exterior/interior certification

Hazardous Materials

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Hazardous Materials
  • Certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science

Military Experience

  • Relevant military experience will be considered as a substitution for one of the requirements listed above.  However, military experience cannot be used as a substitute for EMT licensing.

Step 2. Credentials are reviewed to verify education, work experience, and the match between your career goals and Loss Prevention career opportunities.

Step 3. Participate in the pre-employment test sessions at a local facility contracted by Dow Corning. A representative from Dow Corning will invite you to a test session based upon hiring needs.

Step 4. Complete an interview assessment. Candidates that successfully complete this step will be placed in the pool of qualified candidates for consideration when job openings are being filled externally.

Step 5.  Site-specific interview.  Candidates that successfully complete steps 1-4 will be eligible for a site specific interview when openings occur that need to be filled externally.
