Each year we receive many requests for support for local projects. Many
organizations look for our help with donations of equipment, sponsorship or
practical support from employees.
A small team of employees meet monthly to discuss all the requests. Priority
is given to requests from local groups and the team tries to make sure that any
donation we make helps as many people as possible and has a long-term
benefit.
We will consider requests that meet the following criteria:
-
Projects that are local to the Barry, South Wales site and benefit people
locally. Preference is given in order to Barry and Sully areas then Vale of
Glamorgan. We are unable to consider requests from further afield.
-
Activities that will help young people learn more about science, math and
technology, or skills that they will need in their future careers
-
Ideas that will help organizations or communities to improve health, safety
or the local environment leading to better community vitality
-
Projects that promote good citizenship
The types of projects we cannot support are:
-
raffle prizes
-
support for individuals (such as sponsorship for overseas travel or
individual fundraising)
-

-
one-off events such as fetes, parades, shows, tournaments, concerts (even
if they are annual)
