Minutes of Meeting - - Tuesday 7th of March

 Panel Attendees present:  Maureen Donker, Greg Dorrien, Rick Hayes, Steve LaLonde, Eileen Starks, Kacey Hermans, Susan Duesseau, Rod Sweet, Billy Strawter, Linda Cline

April agenda will cover the mission of the CAP

Joint panel meeting with Dow Chemical November of 2006
Dow Community Meeting – walk through 47 building in April (invitations will be sent to DC panel members)

Energy and Challenges for the future– Larry Kurin

 Larry gave a presentation to the CAP showing our current energy situation and some of our challenges for the future.  He reviewed the Global, National and State trends for natural gas prices, fuels and utilities.  Also, discussed was the impact of hurricane Katrina on energy supplies.  An explanation was given on how the Global Energy Consumption is playing a part in energy pricing.

 

Update on Midland Site fire:   Jim Haiser

Jim gave a brief summary of the fire in the 300 block of the Midland Plant. He noted that the Site received excellent response by Midland Site and Midland City Fire Dept.         

 

Comments from the Site Manager:  Ken Kaufman

Ken complimented Jim Haiser for his professionalism in handling the fire at the Midland Plant.Panel members were given a copy of the new Silicones & Dow Corning booklet.
