Minutes of Meeting - - Tuesday 4th of October

Present:  Patty Aspin, Noel Bush, Kevin Campbell, Linda Cline, Maureen Donker, Susan Dusseau, Tom Gilstad, Jim Haiser, Kacey Hermans, Brent McCumons, Rich Rausch, Brenda Sauve, Eileen Starks, Billy Strawter, Jim Whitlock

Start-up/Announcements: (Maureen)

•  Welcome
•  Review agenda
•  September meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.  
•  Two minor modifications were identified and will be changed.
•  Maureen asked the panel members if they had heard any         comments from the community
•  Congratulations to Kacey Hermans.  She received a high level         youth leadership role and spent four days in Washington, D.C.

 

1.         Dow Corning Overview & Update(Stephanie Burns)

Stephanie presented the CAP with an update of where we stand as a Corporation today.  We are close to a 4 billion dollar company.  She shared the vision and provided an overview of the number of employees we employ globally.  She also highlighted how many customers, products and services (solutions) that we offer.  She reviewed the financial performance, silicone technology, competitive essence and Strategic Direction.  Stephanie also emphasized the key things that we must deliver on in the next five years to be successful.

 

2.         Essential 2 Life:(Bill Gagliardi)

Bill gave a presentation on the Essential 2 Life program.  He explained how each Site within Dow Corning was rolling this out and the benefit that we feel it provides.  The program was launched on September 27.  The program explains how Chemistry plays a key role in everyday life.  The panel viewed two advertisements that have aired on television. This ties in with Dow Corning’s Social, Environmental & Economic values.  Copies of Dow Corning’s 2004 Sustainability Report will be distributed at the November meeting.
