Our neighbors live in Carroll County, Kentucky and Switzerland County, Indiana.
About 125 of us along with our families and friends live locally.
We support science and math education. In 2003, for example, we began
a Classroom Coach Program with Carroll Co. Middle School. About 20 of us work with
eighth-graders on math skills each week. We also have a high school co-op
program, and we award college and vocational scholarships to prepare students
for technical careers.
We work with local industries, the Carroll Co./Kentucky Tech Area Technology Center, and Jefferson Community College
on the Carroll Co. Training Consortium to develop industrial training
programs.
Dow Corning is an Official Partner of Special Olympics Kentucky, raising nearly $600,000 for
Kentucky athletes since 1992. We support the state Winter Games held in
January.
We support Christmas For The Needy, the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission River Sweep,
the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, and the Carroll Co. Good Neighbor
Night. We also support youth sports programs.
In conjunction with ATOFINA Chemicals, we meet with a Community Advisory
Panel every month at the Carrollton First Baptist Church to discuss
environmental and safety topics. We want to know what our neighbors
think, so any topic or question is fair game.
