Developments and progress on the Chapter 11 process were shared with the CAP.
Dow Corning's partnership with the Saginaw Public Schools and Delta College was presented to the CAP. Members learned about the construction of two new training facilities and the development of curriculums for the training of chemical process operators.
The Midland Plant's performance with an emphasis on employees, environment, health, and safety was reviewed with the CAP.
Representatives of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality met with the CAP and presented an "environmental report card" on the Midland Plant's performance in the areas of air, water, and waste.
CAP members helped host a Midland Plant Open House and had the opportunity to tour the Plant and to learn more about chemical manufacturing and the silicone products produced here in Midland.
A regular CAP meeting was held at the Dow Corning Center. Members toured the corporate campus including the executive offices, security, legal and patent, treasury, tax, and research and development areas.
Work force reduction plans were reviewed and discussed with the CAP.
Dow Corning Corporation's web site was demonstrated to the CAP and a decision was made to post CAP meeting minutes on the www.dowcorning.com web site.
The CAP met at the Midland Plant to review the concept of sheltering in place. Members were given copies of the new Shelter In Place video.
CAP members discussed the impact of Community Advisory Panels on chemical manufacturing companies and the public, and how best to assess our effectiveness and success as a CAP.
Cabot Corporation met with the CAP and presented their company's history, mission, manufacturing processes, and relationship with Dow Corning,
