The minutes of the meeting held on May 2, 2000 were accepted.

Maureen Donker welcomed Brenda Sauve as our new staff assistant from Dow
Corning.

Mike Snyder invited the CAP members to JHTRT (Joint Hazardous Materials
Technician Refresher Training). The Midland Fire Department’s Hazmat
technicians will be participating in this training. It is extremely valuable
and is targeted towards responders. Mike also announced that 7 new (lighted)
signs have been purchased. These signs will aid in road closures and warnings
if needed. The signs will be placed around the Midland Site in public road
right-of-way. They will be installed by year-end, and can be activated by
dialing 911 or DC, at 1-800-TELL-MORE. Cost for the seven signs is $70M.

ACTION: An updated CAP members list will be sent out with the
minutes.

The new ‘Shelter In Place’ video and brochure will be distributed
throughout the community this fall. Copies will be available for CAP members at
the Oct meeting.

Future CAP meeting minutes will be shortened, but will include proposed
actions. Minutes will also be placed on the DCC website. CAP members are
encouraged to offer critique and feedback on the new format for their meeting
minutes.

Maddox updated the CAP on the potential lead exposure concern in 501
Building from Sandblasting. Blood tests showed no exposure problems. The MiOSHA
investigation is still not complete.
ACTION: Follow-up when MiOSHA investigation is complete.
Maddox updated the CAP on the Work Force Reduction program. DC is reducing
600-800 employees (globally), 250-300 tri-county employees.
Maddox also stated that a new business strategy will be forthcoming.
ACTION: Update when available.
