The minutes of the meeting held on September 4, 2001 were accepted. (with
the change to #2 changing the word plant plural to "plants")

Maureen briefly discussed the September 11 "Attack on America". The
panel was able to comment on the letter to the editor in the Midland Daily
News. Jack also mentioned that Dow Corning is on a higher level of alert.
Emergency plans are in place. Travel has also been restricted
indefinitely.

Stephanie Burns discussed a new leather protector that Armour-All has come
out with. It is available in wipes instead of a spray.

Maureen will be contacting Bob Marks, Fire Chief for Lincoln Twp., to see
if he would be interested in joining the panel.

A memorial was sent in honor of Vic Finch to the Midland Area Community
Foundation.

Mike Snyder spoke about the significance of the Fireman's Memorial ceremony
that took place in Roscommon in mid-September. Several slides were shown
including the wall where Vic Finch's name is displayed, in honor of his service
to the City of Midland.

Mike Snyder also invited the panel members to take part in the Emergency
Response Drill on May 7, 2002. This will give panel members personal experience
with how Dow Corning handles emergency activity at the site. More details will
follow at the April meeting.

Current Challenges and Future Opportunities for Dow Corning:
Stephanie Burns, OCEO, Executive Vice President spoke to the panel members.
The two primary topics she covered were an update on Chapter 11 and the Dow
Corning business environment, including future directions of the company.
