Minutes of Meeting -- Tuesday 14th of September

Members Present:

Start-up/Announcements: (Maureen)

  • Welcome and introduction of new panel members. Welcome Patty Aspin and Susan Dusseau. We look forward to having you on our CAP.

  • Introduction of Jean Cronin, Facility General Manager to CABOT in Midland.

  • Maureen reviewed the purpose of our CAP

  • Maureen discussed expectations from the CAP1. Another joint meeting with Dow2. Presentation on DC new products (Lin D. suggested green tire)3. State of the Plant (scorecard)
  • Land use (physical) that DC owns. “What is the plan for the land?” (Susan D.)

  • October agenda we will meet at CABOT.

1. EH&S update (Mike Snyder & Kevin Campbell)

Kevin Campbell informed the CAP of thee upcoming Midland Site Emergency Drill that will be taking place on September 23rd. Media coverage will be provided and more details will follow. Students from Central Michigan University will be in attendance as well.

Mike Snyder reviewed the scorecard and provided facts around the two small releases that occurred in late summer at the Midland Site.

2. New EPA Regulation (Rich Rausch)

Rich Rausch gave a general overview of the new regulations regarding the EPA and solicited input from the CAP. Two guest speakers were invited to provide the CAP with more details. Rich asked the CAP to think about three questions.

•What are the CAP or Community expectations of the project?”
•What concerns would you expect from the community?”
•How, what and when should we communicate with the wider community on this project?

Meeting adjourned @ 4:50p.m.
