Distributed news release: Dow Corning Announces Intent to Acquire Raychem
Power Materials Business Unit of Tyco Electronics

Ian O’Neil will be the speaker at the March meeting. He will give his
perspective on Global Competition and discuss the Midland Site’s performance.

Panel members were asked to share their ideas for a celebration of Dow
Corning’s 60th Anniversary. Many ideas were shared by panel members and will
be communicated to our Corporate Communications department.

January’s assignment for panel members was to talk to members within the
community to find out what their thoughts on Dow Corning are. The three key
items mentioned were (1) emissions are down (2) DC appears to be moving in a
positive direction (3) Dow Corning is in good shape.
1) Xiameter ™: (Mike Papa & Mike Lanham)
Mike Papa gave a presentation of Xiameter™. It is the new measure of value
from Dow Corning. The purpose for this new name brand of existing Dow Corning
products is to provide a lower cost to our customers without all the added
services. The Xiameter™ product line was launched globally in March of
2002. Orders can be placed 24 hours a day seven days a week via the web.
Fifty countries are linked to our internal network (SAP).
