Kevin Campbell introduced our guest speaker, Roger Garner
Overview of mission/vision/purpose of CAP
1. Katrina Relief Efforts & Operation (Jim Whitlock)
Jim Whitlock discuss Katrina’s effect on Dow Corning, he commented that it was
a challenge to obtain raw materials needed for operation but able to continue
production. Dow Corning provided the Red Cross with an immediate $150,000
donation. In addition, employees are encouraged to donate as well and DCC
will match donations up to $100,000.
2. Update from Cabot (Jean Cronin)
Jean Cronin a gave an overview of Cabot and Cabot’s Core Business. She noted a
downward trend of recordable injures with the Midland Cabot Site at zero
recordable injuries for the last four years. She also highlighted some of
their contributions to the community such as sponsoring a youth hockey team.
3. Environmental Update (Jim Haiser)
Overall a good performance on OSHA Recordable injuries in the months of June,
July, and August.
