The site is committed to the American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care® initiative, which makes environmental, health and safety issues a priority by seeking continuous improvement in the management of chemicals and dialoguing with the community about our operations.
For example, we continue to improve our use of raw materials and reduce waste by expanding our hydrogen chloride recovery process to recycle material from more of our processes. The hydrogen chloride is then used to produce trichlorosilane, a basic chemical required to make silicone products.

Since 1988 when the Toxic Release Inventory was established, this site has reduced its emissions of the chemicals listed by 79 percent - well ahead of the industry average.
Midland site is recognized as a leader in environmental health and safety:·

-
