Areas of Support -- Education
We believe that quality education is critical to the future and well-being
of Dow Corning and our community. To promote academic excellence and encourage
student participation, the Midland Plant will provide monetary support to
Midland County programs not directly supported by tax dollars and/or
tuition.
As a chemical company, Dow Corning Midland Site is interested in supporting
educational activities that encourage understanding of math and science,
particularly chemistry. We give priority to projects that:
-
provide (K-14) students with experiences and tolls that help them
understand the world of work and enhance their workforce readiness. Examples
include mentoring programs, science fairs, and school-to-work activities.
-
help local residents acquire job skills to enhance workforce readiness.
Examples include job skill training or mentoring programs focused on job
retention.
