| Since the establishment of the Wiesbaden site in 1983, it has
grown to be one of the largest of Dow Corning’s manufacturing facilities in
Europe. Our employees are critical to our success, and we work hard to develop
a spirit of cooperation between the company management, employees, and the
works council. |
| |
| Our employees benefit from flexible work-time models, from
variable bonus payouts, and from a modern personnel management. This includes
personnel development processes, a performance improvement process, an
open-minded feedback culture, as well as a family-orientated personnel policy,
and attractive social benefits. |
| |
| Around 350 people are currently employed at the Wiesbaden
site, with more than 20 different nationalities. A forty hour week is just as
accepted as the full time (24/7) shift model. We offer apprenticeships in
technical professions, for example in chemistry, as well as in business
administration. Beyond that, we offer training programs and also collaborate
with students working on their diploma or PhD. |
| |
Our employees think globally because they are
members of an international corporate family, and they act locally because they
consider themselves as members of the community at the site.
|
| |
|
|
| |
The safety of our employees is our number one priority! We care about our
employees, so values like fairness, respect and social responsibility are very
important elements of our corporate culture. |
| |
| Many of our employees have been with us for more than 20
years, even more than 30 years. This is a fact we are very proud of. |

| Employer Awards |
| |
 |
Germany's Top Employers (Great Place to Work) - Credible managers,
the respectful interaction with each other and staff that is proud of its
company - that is what distinguished us as one of the Top 50 Employers in
2006.
Two thirds of the overall result of this competition are based on an
employee survey. This is what employees particularly appreciate:
-
Appreciation and development as a person and employee
-
Identification with the employees' individual function and the company
-
High degree of initiative and work satisfaction

 | Basic Certification 'Career & Family' -
The participation in the audit 'Career & Family' is a logical
continuation of our efforts towards improving the balance between a career and
personal life. Within the scope of the audit we consequently optimize our
opportunities regarding work hours, location, organization, leadership skills
and service for families.
This basic certification attests a high standard when handling these
challenges. With the help of a newly created network we will continuously
improve our standards to receive the award again in 3 years. |

 |
Success Factor Family 2005 - Skilled staff is something you don't
like to lose. This and our understanding of the integral perspective of an
employee have taken us further in the development of family focused measures.
Employees and the company both profit from the measures taken towards improving
the combination of family and career, which we adapt individually when
possible.
The recognition by the Federal Minister for Family Affairs as part of the
'Success Factor Family 2005' competition has confirmed our actions.

 |
Certificate of Education - It is important to us to offer career
perspectives to young people via substantiated apprenticeships. We train
industrial business clerks and chemical technicians and in future we will also
be more involved in training in mechanical skills and crafts.
Initiative, team spirit and willingness to take on responsibility are promoted
and expected within the scope of the apprenticeships.

 | Company of the Month - As part of the
campaign 'Committed Companies - Impulses for Hessia' the Hessian State
Government distinguished and awarded our company as a role model.
Our commitment is mainly to support education and social facilities in the
closer area through financial and other donations. We promote the voluntary
engagement of our employees and we even sponsor the working time needed for
these tasks. State Secretary Dirk Metz commented "Dow Corning takes on
responsibility and acts as a good citizen at its Wiesbaden site". |
