Q: Where do I submit requests for ECCN codes?
A
: Please submit ECCN codes requests to dcc.export@dowcorning.com. The Customs and International Trade Department will respond directly.
Q: Where can I find ISO certificates for the products I buy from Dow Corning?
A
: ISO Certifications are available for customer self service. Please reference our current certifications on our Six Sigma Web page.
Q: Can the lot/batch code be used to determine a product's manufacture and expiration date?
A
: Dow Corning lot/batch codes are generated in sequential order on a global scale as various materials are produced.  There is no method to interpret the code.  For information regarding date of manufacture and expiration date, please obtain a copy of the Certificate of Analysis specific to that batch of material. Please contact your Dow Corning Distributor or Representative for further assistance.
Q: Where do I submit Country of Raw Material Origin or NAFTA requests?
A
: For Country of Raw Material Origin or NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) requests please complete and submit the NAFTA Request form.

Q: Where do I submit Harmonized Tariff Codes requests?

A: Please be advised that we have enhanced our Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Classification System management process for import and export in specific geographies. During the next few months, enhancements will be rolled-out to the following country group and countries: Canada, Mexico, United States, Europe, China and Brazil (Called NCM Codes). HTS codes will be printed on import/export documentation.

If you could not find the information on your import/export documentation, please submit your request directly to the respective email address for your region below. Dow Corning's Customs & International Trade Department will respond to your request.

Q: Where can I find information regarding transportation of the products I purchase from Dow Corning?
A

Q: Where can I find information regarding the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)?
A
: CFIA information is available for customer self service on the Canadian Food Inspection Agency website. Type the company name in the proper field for a list of CFIA approved products. If you have additional questions, contact your local EHS Team.
Q: Where do I obtain Halal certificates?
A
: Several Halal certificates are available on the Food and Water page in the Product EH&S Information Portal. If you cannot find your product in those documents please contact our EH&S team.
Q: Where can I find current Dow Corning U.S. Kosher certificates?
A
: Several Kosher certificates are available on the Food and Water page in the Product EH&S Information Portal .

Dow Corning’s current letters of U.S. Kosher certification are available for customer self service at the Orthodox Union website.  From this page:

Q: Where can I find a list of Dow Corning products that meet National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) certifications 51 and 61?
A
: A list of Dow Corning products that meet NSF [National Sanitary Foundation] certifications 51 and 61 can be found at the NSF website. Dow Corning does not maintain copies of the certification. Please work directly with NSF to obtain the needed documentation.
Q: Where can I find information about food profiles for the products I buy from Dow Corning?

Q: Do silicones release more or less formaldehyde in comparison to organic substances when exposed to high temperatures?

Q: Where can I find information regarding WHIMS classifications?
A

Q: Why does the information and pictograms on GHS product Labels, for products imported from the US into Asia, sometimes appear different between the original US and local Asian labels?
A
: There are differences between how the regulatory authorities in the US have implemented GHS versus the authorities in Asian countries. For a more detailed explanation please consult our Factsheet on this topic which is also available in Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

Q: What is Dow Corning's position on requirements for supplying Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and product labels in compliance with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS/CLP) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals?
A
: GHS provides a global approach for defining and classifying hazards, and communicating the information on Safety Data Sheets and labels. Countries globally are revising their hazard communication standards in an effort to improve international harmonization of SDS and labels. Each country level GHS regulation has deadlines for putting SDS and labels into the new format. Dow Corning is committed to comply with applicable country specific GHS/CLP regulatory requirements for SDS and labels and intends to meet the required deadlines. Implementation of GHS will impact the look and format of both SDS and product labels. Detailed information on GHS can be found at the US OSHA web page.

Q: Where can I find information regarding U. S. California Proposition 65 and U.S. EPA SARA?

: Information regarding U.S. California Proposition 65 and U.S. EPA SARA (302/303/311/312/313) is located on section 15 of the U.S. Safety Data Sheets at dowcorning.com or www.xiameter.com. Dow Corning reviews changes to the California Prop 65 list as they are proposed and implemented on an ongoing basis, assesses the impact of these changes and updates the Safety Data Sheets for our products as appropriate in light of these changes.  If no USA safety data sheet is available, please contact our EH&S team.
Q: Where can I go to determine a product's U.S. EPA status?
A
: For U.S. EPA status, reference section 15 of the U.S. Safety Data Sheet for chemical inventory related to TSCA. If you are unable to locate the information you need, please contact our EH&S team. Dow Corning needs more specific details as EPA status can reference several types of regulations.
