In support of its commitment to education, Dow Corning presented a monetary
gift to the School of Chemical Engineering at Michigan Technological University
(MTU) in Houghton, Mich., U.S. The donation will fund an upgrade to its Unit
Operations Lab, a chemical processing facility that provides college students
with hands-on experience to apply their learning before beginning a job in the
industry. The lab also allows pre-college students at MTU’s Summer Youth
Program to run experiments, introducing them to possible careers in
engineering.

The Dow Corning Foundation contributed to construction of the lab. Midland
and corporate site engineers provided counsel on the lab’s construction, and
the company provides ongoing support to keep it running.
