May reduce seal costs through automation
-
Specific products suitable for oil and coolant sealing
-
Allows flexibility in component design
-
Reject rates may be reduced by precise gasket positioning
-
Allows seal fabrication placement to be integrated with part fabrication
-
Self-priming for stay-in-place adhesion
-
Outstanding resistance to environmental degradation
-
Easy-to-process two-part system: 1:1 mix ratio
-
Maintains bead profile through controlled rheology
-
Maintains elastomeric properties from -40 to 150°C and above
-
Fast cure at high temperature (typically 5 to 10 minutes at 150°C)
-
No post cure required; seal ready for use after initial cure
Process:
In situ robotic dispensing of compression seals uses liquid silicone elastomers. Robot follows contour of component and applies precisely metered bead directly on sealing surface. After short cure at high temperature, seal is ready to use. Rheology of liquid elastomers used, together with in-built adhesion promotion, means cured bead stays in place and retains its dispensed profile and size.
