Once cut to shape, you may want to look at ways of
edging the material, as the exposed textile fibers give edges a rough, abrasive
feel. We recommend that you edge all S-Range materials, particularly in
applications where the material is visible or removable by the user. Depending
on the flexibility and tension of the edging material, you can form S-Range
textile into three-dimensional shapes. The edging will also make it easier to
join S-Range textiles to other materials.

| Start by stitching the material along the outer edge
to flatten the edge. | | |
 | |
|
 | |
|
| Then sew a ribbon or tape to the edge. | | |
 | |
|
 | |
|
| The edging can then be attached to the base layer
fabric. | | |
 | |
|
 | |
|
| It is possible to use an elastic edging material to
create soft, rounded three-dimensional shapes. Varying the elasticity of the
binding and the tension applied will alter the shape achieved. | | |
