DEFLEXION™ TP-Range textiles are very well-suited
for compression molding into complex, three-dimensional parts. This is a highly
versatile process that also gives designers an opportunity to play with surface
textures and edges.

| DEFLEXION™ TP-Range sheets can be formed into
three-dimensional shapes using compression molding.
| |
|
| |
|
| We recommend that you use a two-part mold and heat it
up to about 145 – 150°C. | | |
| |
|
| |
|
| Using compression molding, it is possible to achieve
complex shapes with curved walls, holes, cuts and embossed patterns, in
addition to rounded edges and adding a sewing channel, as seen in the section
above | | |
| |
|
| |
|
| Using a specifically designed molding tool, it's
possible to add a second material, including other fabrics, during the molding
process. So-called overmolding is a great way of adding textures and tactile
experiences to a wide range of products.
