Fabric Softeners and Laundry Additives

Consumers value anti-wrinkle properties in today's busy schedules. To help you provide that, Dow Corning does some of the testing for you. We conducted panel testing on pillow case swatches. Results from paired comparison testing between a reference treatment based on 16% active triethanolamine based diesterquat softener and the same treatment with the addition of the silicone additive showed the following products improved anti-wrinkle characteristics:
  • XIAMETER® MEM-8035 Emulsion - White pourable cationic emulsion of an amino-functional polydimethylsiloxane; provides very high (>80%) silicone deposition onto fabrics.
  • XIAMETER® MEM-1865 Emulsion - Translucent, 40% active, pourable anionic / non-ionic microemulsion with a polydimethylsiloxane / cyclic blend internal phase.
