Helping a textile retain its shape is something Dow Corning products do
well, and something valued by consumers. To demonstrate that, Dow Corning
conducts testing to help you decide which product works best. In one test, a
piece of textile was washed 10 times, stretched for 1 minute at 80%
deformation; the measurement was taken of the percent deformation occurring at
2 minute relaxation time. The treatment was detergent plus 3% silicone
active. The following products showed improved shape retention:
-
Dow
Corning® 2-8035 Cationic Emulsion - White pourable cationic emulsion of an
amino-functional polydimethylsiloxane; provides very high (>80%) silicone
deposition onto fabrics.
-
Dow
Corning® Q2-1607 Emulsion- Cationic emulsion, active at low addition
levels, 0.8 to 1.5% as active silicone.
