When it fulfills the consumer need, water absorbency is a key benefit
consumers value in a textile, and one which Dow Corning has several products to
help you. To show that, we conduct appropriate testing to help you
determine which Dow Corning product best fits your formulation. We
have done testing consisting of the time needed for a piece of towel
to fall to the bottom of a 1 liter beaker full of water. Treatment based
on 16% active triethanolamine based diesterquat softener with the addition of
the silicone additive. The following products improved the water
absorbency:
-
Dow
Corning® 2-1865 Microemulsion - Translucent, 40% active, pourable anionic /
non-ionic microemulsion with a polydimethylsiloxane / cyclic blend internal
phase.
-
Dow
Corning® 2-8035 Cationic Emulsion - White pourable cationic emulsion of an
amino-functional polydimethylsiloxane; provides very high (>80%) silicone
deposition onto fabrics.
-
Dow
Corning® 1716 Microemulsion - Translucent, 30% active, pourable
cationic microemulsion of cross-linked OH polydimethylsiloxane internal
phase.
