Robotic Skins

Due to its high strength, low durometer and excellent flexibility; Dow Corning® HS IV Base and Dow Corning® HS IV  10:1 Colored Catalyst, also called Silastic® 3487 Base and Curing Agent, is recommended for the manufacture of robotic skins used in animated creatures.

In the U.S., Dow Corning® HS III Base and Dow Corning® HS Sprayable Catalyst Clear, which has high strength and low durometer, can also be considered for the manufacture of robotic skins where the utility of a sprayable application system is desired.

Information in the Product Finder will help guide your selection. The final decision on products and additives can often be made only after practical tests.
