About Dow Corning

Dow Corning’s executive director of environment, health and safety, Peter Cartwright, (PDF: 173 KB) recently delivered a presentation at Green Supply Chain Summit 2008 in London.  He shared Dow Corning’s approach to sustainability as part of a program focused on sustainability issues beyond the carbon footprint. 

“Sustainability is much more than an initiative at Dow Corning,” Cartwright explained.  “As one of our key values, it is built into our business and decision-making processes and attitudes. We are committed to act responsibly to create economic growth and value, improve the quality of life and our environmental performance.”

While sustainability is important all along the supply chain, it is not limited to the company’s internal operations.  Helping customers with their sustainability needs is also critical. 

“It is about more than putting your own house in order, said Cartwright.  “Customers want help with waste, water and energy solutions as well.”
