Dow Corning appoints Dan Futter vice president of Solar Solutions & Wind Energy Solutions
Midland, MI, September 4: Dow Corning Corporation
today announced that it has named Dan Futter as vice president of
Dow Corning’s Solar and Wind Solutions businesses, effective September 1,
2012. Futter brings nearly two decades of technical and management experience
to his role leading Dow Corning’s Solar and Wind Energy Solutions business
division.

researchers worldwide to innovate silicon-based solutions that increase the
efficiency, reliability, performance and cost-competitiveness of renewable
energy,” said Robert D. Hansen, Dow Corning president and CEO. “Dan’s
business acumen and diverse experience managing game-changing innovation will
enable Dow Corning to continue to develop practical, cost-effective clean
energy materials for our customers.”
Futter is taking over from Eric Peeters, who has provided world-class
leadership of Dow Corning’s Solar Solutions business since 2008, helping
establish the company’s position as a global supplier and innovation partner in
the solar industry. Peeters has been named to lead Dow Corning’s
Electronics Business, building on his experience in the photovoltaic (PV)
industry.

Futter joined Dow Corning Corporation in 1994, and most recently served as
business vice president of Dow Corning’s Business and Technology Incubator
(B&TI). The B&TI is chartered with discovering and building significant
new business opportunities for the Corporation.
In his more than 18-year career at Dow Corning, Futter has served in
various technical, commercial, business development and executive positions in
the United States and Europe.
He is a board member for the Specialty Chemicals Business at Dow Corning
and of the Mid Michigan Innovation Center. Futter earned a B.Sc. Hons in
Biochemistry with Biotechnology from the University of Birmingham, UK.
