Dow Corning in India recently partnered with Habitat for Humanity to
provide affordable low-cost housing for families in need in Maharashtra. The
company co-funded with Habitat for Humanity, the building of
affordable houses in Ambegaon, situated in Pune district. The beneficiaries
were families who were displaced due to irrigation projects in the region.
Construction on these houses is nearly complete, and will benefit about 45
people.
In addition twenty-five employees from the Mumbai office of Dow
Corning traveled to Dongerpada near Mumbai to assist in building houses for two
underprivileged families as part of a volunteer build program organized by
Habitat for Humanity.
