Dow Corning named a Working Mother 100 Best Company for leadership on creating family-friendly policy and culture

Midland, Michigan–Dow Corning Corporation was named one of the Working Mother 100 Best Companies for the eighth consecutive year.

Working Mother magazine recognized Dow Corning for its wide array of progressive workplace programs, including flexible work arrangements, new mentoring and coaching for women professionals, adoption assistance up to $6,000 and six weeks of paid leave, support for parents of children with special needs, paid time off for new dads, and community grants to child care providers, nominated by employees, to purchase equipment to enhance early learning and physical fitness.

“We are honored, once again, to be named to this prestigious list,” said Robert Hansen, Dow Corning’s president and CEO. “Dow Corning’s employee value proposition is grounded in our commitment to providing a supportive workplace culture with programs that help working parents, and all employees, effectively manage their work and life responsibilities.”

Carol Evans, president of Working Mother Media, said, “This year’s 100 Best Companies are leading the way for the rest of the nation. They have created not only essential benefits, like flexible work options and telecommuting, but have also shown their commitment in new ways like elder care referral and legal assistance to help busy parents manage their personal lives as well as their careers.”

Jennifer Owens, editorial director of Working Mother Media, added, “These Best Companies know what it takes to keep all employees, but especially their employee moms, productive and engaged at work. As the stress surrounding work-life integration continues to rise, so does the opportunity for creating a win-win environment for employees and employers. The Working Mother 100 Best Companies see the payoff from their programs and policies and are outstanding examples for companies to emulate.”
