Dow Corning, a leading global silicone and solutions provider, hosted the ‘Fascinating Silicone’ science class on the 29^th at its Jincheon plant in North Chungcheong Province for around 40 student participants in the ‘Green Energy Club Contest.’

The ‘Fascinating Silicone’ science class is designed to provide an opportunity for local students to learn and experience the unlimited potential of silicone and to understand how it has contributed to improving energy and performance across diverse fields of industry, from solar to LEDs to construction. Around 40 students from six elementary schools in North Chungcheong Province who are participants in the ‘Green Energy Club Contest,’ sponsored by Dow Corning Korea, attended this event. They heard interesting and educational stories about silicone science told by Dow Corning employees based on their field experience.

This year’s science class provided students with an opportunity to experience ‘Silicone printing’ techniques by decorating a T-shirt using silicone, to formulate a skin lotion using silicone, and to take a tour through a plant, promoting real science education.

The ‘Green Energy Club Contest,’ jointly held with the Korean Environmental Education Association (KEEA) and in its third year, is one of Dow Corning Korea’s social contribution activities, aiming to foster talent with environmental awareness and environment-friendly lifestyles. This year, 14 selected student groups that have advanced to the final round are conducting various activities such as energy saving campaigns for their school and suggesting ideas for alternative energy inventions.
