Dow Corning Corporation Receives Intel’s Preferred Quality Supplier Award
Midland, Mich. – Dow Corning Corporation was named a recipient of Intel
Corporation’s 2007 Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding
performance in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel’s
success. The company is awarded for its efforts supplying Intel with thermal
interface materials and adhesives. Dow Corning Corporation and 34
additional PQS award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame,
California on March 18.
“A key objective for Dow Corning Electronics is to be a high-quality
and reliable supply chain partner. This is the sixth PQS Award we’ve been
honored to receive from Intel, and we look forward to meeting their exact needs
for proven, innovative materials in the future,” said Marie Eckstein, vice
president and general manager, Dow Corning’s Advanced Technologies and
Ventures Business.
“Congratulations to Dow Corning for being a PQS winner in 2007,” said
Jeff Selvala, director, Assembly Test Global Materials, Intel Corporation.
“Dow Corning’s performance in 2007 was outstanding with continuous
delivery of high quality materials to Intel’s world wide high volume
manufacturing factories. Dow Corning has executed consistently in the
areas of cost, technology, and quality.”
The PQS awards are part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement
(SCQI) process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and
continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80
percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost,
quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers
must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality
systems assessment. Additional information about the SCQI program is available
at http://supplier.intel.com/quality.
Intel will also recognize PQS award winners with an advertisement in the
U.S., Europe and Asia editions of The Wall Street Journal on March 18,
2008.
