Press Release: Dow Corning Life Science Industries Positioned to GO BEYOND

Healthcare, Personal Care and Household Care Customers
To Benefit In Evolution From Silicon Technology Roots

Midland, MI -- To communicate its business strategy to provide a full range of solutions its Life Science Industries global customer base, Dow Corning is introducing a new creative theme for its Healthcare, Personal Care and Household businesses.

Called “GO BEYOND,” the new theme reflects Dow Corning’s evolution from its roots as a leader in silicon-based technologies to find ways to help customers meet challenges in new and expanded ways such as natural ingredients, innovative delivery systems, business alliances, and custom processes and solutions, said Scott Fuson, vice president, Specialty Chemicals, and global executive director for the Life Sciences Industry.

“Over the past few years, Dow Corning has evolved in the way we think and react to customers,” said Fuson. “Customers can now benefit from the synergy and growth potential through our expanded offering of silicone materials, market knowledge, business opportunities, and now products beyond silicones.”

Dow Corning has taken several significant steps to support its “GO BEYOND” strategy, including forming marketing and technical alliances; introducing a line of natural lipids; and developing a global network of consultants and specialized manufacturers to provide turn-key solutions for customers.

“It’s important to have relationships with companies that have similar cultures and values and it’s often more productive to work together on joint development rather than separately, so we seek collaborations with business partners and customers as models for how innovation can be moved forward,” said Fuson. “It’s important for companies to build on their own unique strengths and competencies and to continuously reinvent themselves—even when they are successful. This requires commitment, flexibility, and a hard look at your offerings in light of customer needs and market opportunities.”
