To help rubber product fabricators shorten overall processing cycles and
optimize manufacturing performance, the XIAMETER® brand of Dow Corning has
introduced XIAMETER® RBL-9200 Liquid Silicone Rubber, a series of low-viscosity
products that can flow at lower pressures into intricate tool cavities and may
reduce the need for processing adjustments at the molding machine.
“We have a history of producing high-quality LSR products, which customers
are choosing for more and more applications because of their versatility,"
said Ivan Mini, rubber global product market manager for the XIAMETER® brand.
“With XIAMETER RBL-9200 LSR series, our goal is to deliver faster and more
consistent processability among different batches from the same manufacturing
equipment.”
Possible applications for XIAMETER RBL-9200 LSR series include electrical
insulation, keypads, grommets, gaskets and seals. Because it is suitable for
food contact, it can also be used for spatulas and pot holders, as well as
potentially an alternative to latex in baby-bottle nipples and pacifiers
(extractable testing pending).
“In the global LSR market, customers who are looking for value need
high-quality products from a supplier dedicated to cost optimization, which is
what the web-enabled XIAMETER® business model is all about,” said Mini.
