Dow Corning Plasma Solutions offers two equipment options suitable for the
processing of materials in flexible web or fiber/filament form:
-
SE-1100 LabLine™ System:
An R&D, test, pilot production, or narrow web production tool for
webs up to 320 mm (12.5 inches) wide
-
SE-1000 AP4 System: A
pilot or mainstream production tool for webs up to 2.5 m (98 inches) wide
These large area plasma systems carry out surface
engineering at room temperature by passing the material through a volume of
non-thermal equilibrium, cool plasma (energetic, ionized, glowing gas)
generated by applying radio frequency voltage across two opposing parallel
plate electrodes separated by ~10 mm.
They operate at atmospheric pressure in an open-perimeter
mode suitable for continuous, reel-to-reel processing. The LabLine
system is designed as a standalone system with its own unwind/rewind, while the
AP4 system is designed for in-line, continuous production.

Also available is our Jet APPLD equipment option which
generates jets of coating plasma for processing 3D and rigid sheet materials,
and flexible material in fiber/filament form.
