Common Nomenclature

What Is in a Name?

When it comes to organosilicon nomenclature, accuracy is the “name of the game.” That is why
Dow Corning follows the nomenclature guidelines outlined in Organosilicon Compounds by Colin Eaborn.

Chemical nomenclature simply means the naming of chemical compounds in a careful and systematic way, reflecting our understanding of their structure and their nature. By using standard nomenclature, this allows you and Dow Corning to be “on the same page.”
