We are a nation of innovators, overcoming every challenge put before us.
Creating a new, greener economy is among the biggest challenges our country
faces in this century.
That’s why America needs meaningful new federal investment in solar energy
research and development. It will help us compete as a global solar power – and
to improve our planet, too.
To achieve President Obama’s goal of creating five million green collar
jobs, Congress should expand its support for development of educational
programs and workplace training opportunities that enable U.S. workers to
obtain new skills for the jobs of the future.
In keeping with this vision and the public policy imperatives that can make
it a reality, we have identified four urgent and achievable policy goals for
making America a leading provider of solar power in the 21st
century.
By focusing on these four areas, Dow Corning is confident that our nation
can expand its energy capacity, create jobs, spur economic growth and achieve
energy independence from foreign oil.
