A meat processing plant was using mineral oil for the lubrication of its vacuum pumps used for servicing a mixing chamber. The pumps were used to remove excess water vapor and air from an enclosed mixing chamber.
Due to the high levels of water vapor, the mineral oil used to lubricate the pumps was mixing with the water and emulsifying. To avoid costly, weekly oil changes, the plant switched to Molykote L-1668FG.
