A new, modified hydrophilic softener offers softness, maintains the whiteness and natural absorbency of cellulosic fabrics, and is more durable than traditional hydrophilic silicones

In order to meet market needs related to premium hydrophilic finishing, Dow Corning introduces a new silicone polymer for textile finishing, Dow Corning® 8600 Hydrophilic Softener. Various evaluations and tests were performed on microemulsions formulated with the hydrophilic softener. The results conclude that Dow Corning 8600 Hydrophilic Softener provides an excellent balance of properties to cotton fabrics such as premium softness, high whiteness retention and hydrophilicity, as well as outstanding processability under a number of standard and extreme finishing process conditions.
