This privacy statement covers Dow Corning’s corporate website, www.dowcorning.com. Dow Corning Corporation, hereinafter referred as Dow Corning, is the sole owner of information collected on this site.

Your privacy is important to us. Dow Corning is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. If you have questions about this Statement, please contact us.

Dow Corning will:

• NOT sell, rent, or lease your personal information
• NOT keep you on our mailing lists if you have requested to be removed
• NOT share your information with any trading partners unless you have requested information, products, or services that can be best handled by another company

2. What information do we collect and what do we do with it?

Log Files

Like most standard Web site servers, we use log files to capture IP address, browser type, machine ID, referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, number of clicks, and other information. We use this information to analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movement in aggregate, troubleshoot problems, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc., are not linked to personally identifiable information.

If you are also registered (by providing your e-mail address when asked in a variety of places), we capture your e-mail address in our log files in order to understand your interests to better serve you.

E-Mail and “Contact Us” Forms Submitted

If you contact Dow Corning via e-mail or a “Contact Us” form, we may keep a record of that correspondence. We will try to respond in a timely manner. Dow Corning also occasionally asks users to complete surveys that we use for research purposes. From time to time we may provide you with special offers based upon information you have provided within your e-mail. Note: If you unsubscribe or remove yourself from our mailing lists it will not stop e-mail that responds to your specific request or activities. Examples of such requests or inquires are responses to your inquiries (e.g., “Contact Us”), follow up e-mail on samples, order confirmations, and other activities not listed here.

Third Party Privacy

Dow Corning uses pixels, or transparent GIF files, to help manage online advertising. These GIF files are provided by our ad management partner, DoubleClick. These files enable DoubleClick to recognize a unique cookie on your Web browser, which in turn enables us to learn what advertisements bring users to our website. The cookie was either placed by us or by another advertiser who works with DoubleClick. With both cookies and spotlight technology, the information that we collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It does not contain your name, address, telephone number, or email address. Registration Information

By providing your e-mail address (e.g., completing a “Contact Us” form, accessing a product data sheet, accessing an application, applying for a Premier Account, signing up for technical updates, accessing Live Help, and other situations), we are registering you on this site.  Besides storing your e-mail ID, we store information you have provided within “My Contact Information” within Profile/Preferences, and any information you have provided when applying for a Premier Account. We use this information to save you the time of re-entering on “Contact Us” forms, My Custom Compound application, and other areas on the site. We may also use this information to send you confirmations, special offers, surveys, and other information as required or in order to contact you. We recommend you protect your information with a password within Profile/Preferences.

You may permanently cancel your registration to this website at any time by completing theCancel My Account Form. By canceling your account you will lose access to various information and applications on this website, Premier access (if you are a Premier member), and any subscriptions or other e-mail offers you have selected.

If you do not wish to receive unsolicited e-mail from Dow Corning, which may occur as a direct result of providing your e-mail address to this website, you may unsubscribe from our mailing list within Profile/Preferences.

3. Use of "Cookies"

Cookies are pieces of information that are used to store and track information about you, and they are stored on your computer's hard drive. Whenever you provide us your e-mail address (e.g., completing a “Contact Us” form, accessing a product data sheet, accessing an application, applying for a Premier Account, signing up for technical updates, Live Help, and other situations), we place a cookie with your e-mail address and a unique identifier created by our site on the computer you are using at the time.   Turning your cookies off within your browser can prevent this; however, several portions of the site will not be accessible to you. If you want to remove this cookie, please go to Profile/Preferences and check the box “I am using a Public computer”, click the Save button, and close your browser.

We use these cookies:

• So you do not have to enter your e-mail address each time you visit this site and/or each time you submit a “Contact Us” form.
• To track usage so we can improve the site’s navigation, layout, and general design. To determine what is useful to users of the site.
• To determine areas you are interested in so that we are better able to serve you.

We also place non-personally identifiable information in other cookies such as Country and Language so you do not need to re-enter this information each time you visit this site. 4. Use of Purchased Mailing Lists

We do purchase/rent/lease e-mail lists for which we do not have direct access to the addresses and therefore are unable to remove you from the e-mail communication if you have previously unsubscribed from receiving communications from Dow Corning.  We rely on the fact that you gave permission to the owner of the purchased/rented/leased e-mail list and therefore we are in compliance with this Privacy Statement.

5. Protection of Information

Dow Corning uses state-of-the-art technology to safeguard your information in a secure manner. Should you choose to protect your information with a password, your account information will be encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). You may edit your information at any time by using your password.

Dow Corning takes steps to ensure that your information is treated securely and in accordance with the relevant terms and conditions and this privacy policy. Unfortunately data transmission over the Internet cannot be guaranteed as 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your information, Dow Corning cannot ensure or warrant the security of this site, and you use it at your own risk.

Dow Corning will release customer's Personal Information if required to do so by law or by search warrant, subpoena or court order.

The Dow Corning website is currently hosted in the United States. The fact that your data is being processed outside the European Economic Area may mean that your rights under EU Data Protection legislation are adversely affected or inapplicable. By submitting your personal data through this website, you shall be consenting to its being processed by Dow Corning Corporation on servers located outside the European Economic Area.

6. Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.  We will use information in accordance with the privacy statement under which the information was collected.
